Confidence builds Success
Some in the industry will disagree and claim that those with
less confidence is more successful, but I totally disagree with such an
observation and with good reason.
Often times successful people come across as arrogant and
rude, while others come across as timid and shy, those who are arrogant and
rude were born that way as were the timid and shy successful people. However, while
both come from opposite spectrums of the success sphere, they have one thing in
common, they are successful in their chosen field, so there is no right or
wrong concept to being the saying of being confident means you will become successful.
What it does mean is this – you work hard in your chosen
field and you will eventually become successful. If you, don’t you want. When we
speak of confidence, we aren’t speaking about the arrogant and rude individuals
because they are not completely overconfident in their field, instead, we’re
dealing with their overblown ego because they are in a position of authority
and they love it. Instead, I am talking about confidence in their ability,
skills, goals, and mission to succeed in their chosen field of business.
Confidence means action and your willingness to stand up for
integrity and yourself, lack of confidence means inaction and allowing others to
walk all over you. Plain and simple.
When you are confident in your abilities and skills you will
seize the moment and take action to be successful. There are many reasons why
self-confident individuals succeed and here they are:
1) Don’t Procrastinate – Confident people never procrastinate
in their business or their tasks. People procrastinate because they don’t know
how to get started. They believe the tasks they need to accomplish are just to hard
to accomplish. They don’t have the skillset, experience or motivation to get
started. Easily distracted by pets, phone or internet or just other people in general.
2)
If you’re not capable of creating a list of
tasks, prioritize those tasks and schedule them for completion, I nor any other
life coach can’t help you, so make up your mind are you going to succeed or are
you going to fail right now? Don’t waste mine or your time in wanting to
succeed. If you want to succeed, then continue to read on, if not don’t bother.
Good luck.
3)
Driven attitude to succeed – When you are a
confident person you start off with a bang. You’re not shy about implementing a
new idea or concept while others are still stinking about an idea.
4)
Overcoming Fear – A lack of confidence can cause
you to feel immobile with absolute fear. That’s fear of failing in your chosen
endeavor. Fear of what people think of you and your idea. Fear of succeeding. So,
I say build that confidence and realize that fear can be overcome and conquered
so that you can succeed. You must fail before you succeed.
5)
Know when to say NO – Those who are confident in
themselves and their ability to make things happen, know when to say “no” when
it is appropriate. These individuals don’t take on unproductive or unnecessary
tasks unless they have to do with their business directly and will enhance
their business success.
6)
Know when to say YES – Saying “Yes” is an open
door to an opportunity to grow one’s business and succeed. It is an opportunity
for growth or to meet certain people who potentially can open the door to other
opportunities in the future. Never turn down new opportunities because you think
you’re not worthy of the opportunity, instead look at the situation as a new
door being opened for you to learn something new and exciting.
7)
Stretching your limits - Stretching your limits
has to do with trying new things, new ideas, and stepping over the boundaries of
safety yet not destroying those boundaries. Just don’t over-extend yourself too
much while stretching those limits. If you take on too much, too soon, you
might stab yourself in the foot and destroy what you’ve already
accomplished.
8)
Raising the bar of success – Those who truly
wish to succeed set their bar of success really high, then aim for that
threshold and obtain the goals set for themselves. Successful people never set
the bar low because they know they will not achieve the success they dream of
instead they will obtain run-of-the-mill results.
9)
Ask Questions – Successful people aren’t afraid
to ask questions in order to learn from those more successful or better yet ask
the question they need to learn from, such as is there any job openings in your
firm?
10 Believe in yourself – No matter what happens in
your business career, never stop believing in yourself. Take steps to learn new
things, new skills and most of all meet new people who will support you and encourage
you on your journey. As soon as you doubt yourself, you will fail. So never
stop believing in yourself.
11 Confidence means Winning – Winning means life is
a competition and the habits of confident people can change the lives of
themselves and others. Here’s how habits can change people, never judge others.
When you pass judgment on others you tell them you are self-conscious and
should be avoided. Not a good thing to have in your habit bag. Confident people
speak with conviction and certainty. They never converse with phrases such as “I
think” or “I’m not sure if” or “Umm”. Those phrases are for people who lack
self-confidence in their life. So never open a conversation with these phrases. The most important habit is to learn to listen rather than always speaking. Speak
with intelligence and mind your tone so as to only speak to those in your group
never to the entire room, because that’s disturbing and rude. Confident people
are not afraid to ask questions so they can learn from those who know more than
they do. They are also not afraid to ask for help when needed. They are also
happy for those within their peer circle when they succeed. Celebrating their
victories shows how confident they truly are in who they are as a business
person. Confident people aren’t afraid to take advantage of new opportunities.
They’re willing to take risks in order to succeed.
12 Act without waiting for permission – Because it
is your success we’re dealing with here, you never have to ask for permission
to accomplish a task or making a decision, just do it.
13 Conflict – Don’t shy away from conflict, find a
solution and know that conflict is part of your life’s journey. Conflict can be
awkward or difficult but you can learn from it as a life lesson. Embrace it and
solve the problem.
14 Believe in your ability to succeed – never underestimate yourself or your abilities. Be brave and believe in yourself that you
can succeed. Make it happen!
