Faith in your Business

Faith and business go hand in hand. No matter the business I was in, a start up or commercial business in the corporate world, my entrepreneur spirit was kept alive by my faith in myself and in God. We also know that roses have thorns and all businesses have thorns that can sting when you get pricked by them. What does that mean you might be asking? Well, it means that businesses of any kind, whether it be your own or someone else’s has its ups and downs, good times and bad, and most importantly, times when things are a serious struggle. Each of those struggles caused me to rethink my ability to work as an independent consultant, but then I prayed hard to ask God for guidance and help. Sure, enough within a week or two the solution to the struggle appeared in a new client and all was good again.

Having faith that all will be good to go in your business is the hardest thing to have when you work for yourself. You must plan out everything, work, getting new business or clients, planning for the financial future to pay bills to ensure you don’t fall behind on said bills and obligations is a real struggle. You have to sometimes plan ahead three to six months in your planning to ensure you have enough money to survive.

If you have employee’s that count on you for their livelihood, you must adapt and overcome ever struggle to ensure they have a paycheck to survive. No matter what the struggle is in your life, whether it be a death in your family, someone close to you being sick and, in the hospital, or a relationship breakup, you have to stay focused and on top of everything because those employees depend upon you for their paychecks. Always remember that God is charge of your destiny which means not everything is going to go as planned, or as easy as you might think it should go, everything he does is a test of your will to survive, so plan for every possibility. So no matter what type of business you enter, make sure it’s one that is so exciting that you can’t wait to get out of bed in the morning and serving those to whom you consider your clients. A business that is built upon the foundation of faith, peace and happiness is a life worth living. A business that has an abundance of freedom, spiritually, mentally and financially is one worth living and succeeding for. That’s a life deserving of your full attention, because it’s  a life filled with a business that is based on faith, country and family.
