What is the key to success?

What is the key to success?

I talk about the key to success a lot because I learned a long time ago there is a difference between happiness and success. Success is a dream we all have in life, but how does one gain success is the major question that should be asked.  Success to me is how much can I give back to those in my community. In essence I was brought up giving back to those in uniform, military, police and first responders no matter where they are stationed or serve. For my entire life I have helped those within the military of all branches that find themselves in trouble, lobbying pro bono for their branch to gain funding, equipment or manpower to succeed in protecting our national security and defending and lobbying for law enforcement personnel. I don’t do this to see how much they can give back to me, but rather how much I can help them. However, you do find out how successful you’ve been in life when you’re down on your luck and need help and you reach out to them for assistance and which ones pony up to help you. Those who help you financially are your true friends even if you’ve never helped them with anything in life, they show you in their generosity how much you meant to them as a friend and a colleague. What that means is you’re more valuable to those around you based on your knowledge and your personal generosity rather than the amount of money you make. Your Financial wealth gives you the ability to do things like travel, buy things, eat better than the average person and most of all, allows you to donate funds to various charities when called upon to do so.

Here are a few concepts to think about in order to be useful to others in your life.

1)    Be sincere

When offering help, don’t just offer solutions that probably have already been explored, truly be sincere and off solutions that maybe they haven’t thought of and be mindful of how you offer the help.

2)      Proactive assistance

Don’t wait to be asked to help, offer to help and ask what needs to be done or what type of help does the person need. Once you offer help, follow through because that person is counting on your help.

3)      Solutions to the need

Once you know what the need is, try to come up with viable solutions to the problem. Whether is be a point of contact to assist or direction that needs to be taken, offer solutions that can truly help, don’t wait to be asked.

4)      Be observant of what is needed

I never wait to be asked to help, that’s because I’ve learned to be observant of people and their actions. They might not come right out and ask for help, because their pride won’t allow them to beg, so be observant and offer your help, or offer a solution or contact that might help them overcome the burden their enduring at that moment.

5)      Go the extra mile to help

If a person needs help raising money or even selling something, don’t just throw up a link on your social media outlets, post up a personal recommendation message to encourage someone in your network to buy something your friend is selling, or how about buying something yourself. You never know if that purchase will feed them for a week, or pay a bill that has been weighing on their mind. It’s the little things you do to help those around your truly make a difference. So be kind and the success will follow, because those you help will never forget your kindness.
