The Golden Rules of Business Success To Remember.
I don’t have to remind you that your business is yours,
yours to build, yours to clarify, yours to focus your energy on and most of
all, yours to manage daily. It is also yours to lead into the future with the
proper strategy to achieve your goals and desires for the best outcome for the
future.
Set your goals and strive to achieve them within a clear
timeframe to garner your success. By setting goals and a timeframe to achieve
them, you are setting yourself up for success because it is during that
timeframe of working on your goals that you can measure your key successes and
if you have a few failures in there, not to worry, you can learn from those
failures.
Let’s create a list of the gold rules of business success to
remember:
1)
When creating a new business know that it will
take five times as long to get it up off the ground and no matter how much
money you plan to use during the first two years, times it by five and you’ll
probably be right on the money. You will make costly mistakes along the way,
but don’t worry, those mistakes are probably tax write-offs.
2)
Failure is an essential part of starting a business.
Not only is failure a good starting point for your next try, but it is also
something that will help teach you what not to do in the future. Whatever you
do, don’t be afraid to fail because you only learn from your mistakes.
3)
You’re not perfect so don’t think you have to be
perfect in everything you do in life and in business. You never know if what
you’re offering the world is something they need. So don’t be pushy.
4)
Branding isn’t your most critically important
object to create when creating a business. We always spend hours upon hours trying to
create the most stylish logo when in fact if you ask your customers what they
think about your logo, they will tell you they didn’t even notice it. However, if
you work on your business first and get that up and running then work on your
logo you’ll find that people will recognize it quicker because you’ll have a customer
base to introduce your logo to and get feedback from in the future.
5)
When creating a business follow your gut, not
your emotions. What do I mean when I say that? Well, let’s explore that line.
Starting a business is like starting a relationship with your partner. Your gut
tells you not to do or say something and when you let your emotions guide your direction
you find yourself in hot water with your partner, right? Well, guess what, when
you allow your emotions to guide you in business you get the same result,
except this time it costs you tons of money and takes your business down the wrong
road. The road you’re on will be failure instead of success. So always follow
your gut and not your emotions when making a decision.
6)
Persistence is golden in business. When one idea
doesn’t pan out, consider another one and move on. Just because you’ve got an
idea for a business doesn’t mean you will succeed in that concept, but if you
are diverse in your thinking and you have multiple plans of action or ideas,
you might surprise yourself and become successful with the one idea you never thought
would take off. So be persistent in your business ideas.
7)
When searching for advice be sure to seek help
from a mentor that actually has succeeded and not seek help from your friends,
unless they are successful business persons. If your friends have never started
a business or run a business they won’t have a clue what to do in order to
guide you to success. Instead seek out someone who has run a business, gone
through the hardships of failure in their business, and who overcame the struggles
of that same business. In other words, don’t go ask your parents for advice,
they don’t know or understand the complexities of running a business, and neither does
your best friend. You want people to guide you who will tell you the truth about
your concept or give you critical feedback on your idea and guide you toward
success.
8) Know your market demographics to ensure you are targeting the right audience to sell your products to and gain the success you deserve. If your products are high priced be sure to go after affluent customer-based targets and not your friends who are struggling financially. You would be wasting so much time and effort if you target people who can’t afford your products and lose sales you could be making on another site to market your products too.
