What’s a vision statement? How do you create one?

What’s a vision statement? How do you create one?

A vision statement can be for either your personal life or your business, it helps you get out of your comfort zone and imagine yourself with anything you thought was impossible or wished for in your dreams. By searching deep within yourself you can create a balance between business and personal life in order to be successful when you create a vision statement. Someone once said “if you can dream it, you can do it.” Don’t remember who said it, but they were right, you can do it if you dream it. Michelangelo once said, “The biggest threat for many of us is not that our goals are too high and we might miss them, but they are too low, and we may reach them.”  Accordingly, in order to achieve your goals, you must first envision them. So, start envisioning where you want to be in 10 years.

I have suggested to many over the years to take a legal pad and pen, and your favorite drink, coffee, tea, wine, or beer and go sit on the porch or anywhere outside and put your thinking cap on. Ask yourself if I had one million dollars what would I do with it? Then make a list of those items. Then ask yourself if I had 10 million dollars what type of company would I create and what would it do? Again, make your list. This is the beginning of your vision statement. Pick out three 1-million-dollar items and 3 ten-million-dollar Items and then do your research on how to accomplish those items and write them down. Then leave it alone for a day or two and let the ideas manifest into your dreams and subconscious. Once it’s embedded in your subconscious you can begin to create your vision statement. Once you’ve created your vision statement hang it or tack it up on the wall next to your desk. Some tape it up on the mirror in their bathroom. I prefer the wall next to my desk so I can see it every day.  Some call it a vision statement I call it my wish list, but it truly is a vision statement.

Some call a wish list or vision statement wishful thinking list; I call it a list of faith. Remember you can’t go anywhere without a direction and purpose, because you must see yourself going there or you won’t make it there. You must manifest the energy to eliminate the obstacles that would prevent you from realizing your vision. When you envision negative energy, that’s what you’ll get negativity in your life. If however, you envision positive energy, that’s what you’ll get positivity in everything you do. SO think Positively.

Create your vision statement and make it a must succeed statement, not a oh maybe I can do this list. Think Positive! Always remember that when you create a vision statement you allow yourself to achieve your goals. When you create a vision statement you create and manifest the dream you have envisioned that does not yet exist. If you are lacking in money to succeed, that I say is hogwash. You can earn the money or save up the money needed to succeed. Or we can get a loan to pay for the vision to come true. You must be determined to success therefore, you must be dedicated to the cause, you are the cause and your vision is a matter of a powerful mind bursting to come forward. Write yourself a large check and post date it 10 years and see how far you’ve come in 10 years. If you don’t have the means to cash it, that means you were not dedicated to the vision statement, instead it expected it to come true on it’s own without any hard work put into making it happen. So become dedicated and think of this concept of a diet or exercise program. Stick with it and you’ll see results.
