Can you live without the Rules to follow?

Have you always been a people pleaser? So have I. I’ve not only been a people pleaser but I’ve also allowed some around me to block my path to success. It wasn’t until I stood up for myself and got divorced many years ago that I stopped allowing those around me to prevent me from moving forward. Instead, I charted my own path. However, I never allowed myself to live the life I was destined to until I again stood up for myself and stopped pleasing those around me. You see I had a plan, but I allowed myself to be sidetracked when someone would call and ask for help. Although I had a full plate of my own wants and needs, I allowed someone else’s wants and need to take priority over my own, whereby, pleasing someone else and not myself. Wrong move. When I finally figured out, I should say no to those who needed or wanted my free advice or to side track me from my path, guess what, my phone stopped ringing. Finally, peace and quiet. But then people began to talk about me. How dare I demand payment for my knowledge, that’s not only rude but selfish. This coming from people who wanted my advice but refused to pay me for my extensive knowledge. Now that’s rude and selfish as far as I’m concerned. I no longer give free advice because guess what, I have bills to pay too and need to be paid for my knowledge. It’s only good business practice to be paid for one’s knowledge that is about to help you obtain your goals in life.

Unfortunately, many times we have a dream in our head that is deminished by someone else around us. Why do we allow them to snuff out our dreams? Generally it's because they are jealous you came up with the idea and they didn't, so they squash the dream by causing doubt in the mind of the creator. So don't settle for that, get away from that person and find those around you that are supportive and encouraging you to follow your dream, even help you to achieve that dream. No dream is so small that it can't be achieve, so don't live by the rules of others, live by God's rules, and go for it.
